Robert Bossisio's studio is located in Trodena, in the Tyrol region of Northern Italy. This area, close to the borders with Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, is located between the Alps, and you can often see a fantastic misty landscape outside your window. In this location surrounded by nature, Boshisio carefully proceeds with his work while repeatedly checking the light and distance from the outside. In his works, you can feel the depth of his explorations in painting as well as the traces of the quiet time he spent here. Bocicio's paintings are made up of beautiful layers of surfaces made of overlapping diverse materials such as ash, tempera, wax, sand, and plaster. The portrait series, in which the outlines appear ambiguous, allows you to experience a pleasant and calm time that evokes afterimages of memories. In the interior series that Bossisio has been working on since his early days, various elements such as surfaces, lines, and colors come together to create complex, three-dimensional spaces in his works.

The title of this exhibition, “Oltre”, means “beyond something” or “further beyond” in Italian. His works make us realize not only what is depicted, but also the existence of something hidden deep within. This title represents Robert Bossisio's art itself, a world of imagination that extends far beyond the painting space.
